Time Commitment

The Alpine ski team requires varsity-level commitments from athletes and their families, which could require participation up to seven days a week during peak season. This includes a combination of dry-land workouts, on-hill training, team dinners, and race days.  Click HERE or visit the schedule page through the website menu.

Alpine ski racing is a challenging sport that demands a strong commitment to strength training. In addition to on-hill training, we will conduct dry-land sessions throughout the season aimed at enhancing strength, agility, and endurance.

Community

In addition to the rigorous training and intensity, there's plenty of fun and the opportunity to develop lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories! COASF is dedicated to fostering a culture of positivity and acceptance, with student athletes on the alpine ski teams welcoming young individuals focused on creating bright futures. Traditionally, our ski team members boast one of the highest GPA averages among all high school sports teams.

Potluck team dinners the night before race days are a cherished tradition for the alpine ski team, where teammates and families come together while coaches discuss race day strategies and plans. Reach out to us and be a part of this amazing experience!

Members and their families frequently collaborate to set up carpooling options to lessen the burden on individual athletes and their families.

Travel

During the season, there are chances for optional travel, including invitational races, inner league competitions, and the possibility for athletes to qualify for state and regional races.
